Good replacement for Lego's motorFeb 19, 2012
By Donald Simms This is a good replacement for the Lego's motor for their boat line which they no longer make. Lego's wants over $20 where you can have this one for under half. Very good deal. Also works for old vintage 12" G.I. Joe sea sleds which used a similar motor.

Great idea, just doesn't executeOct 24, 2010
By Jersey Dawg Love playmobil and the toys they bring, but the underwater motor just doesn't live up to what I was hoping. First it is a pain to turn it on and off, and it's not feasible for my 5 year old to get this thing on/off regularly.
My child has whale/search boat where you can put this on the boat. The motor winds up sending the boat to the bottom of the tub and moves around well, just doesn't keep it afloat. When we take it off the boat it drives around fine, but it just does not sit properly on the boat. My child still enjoys the motorized toy, however, it does not stay afloat long enough to be of much use imo. Would still buy Playmobil, just not crazy about this component.

By western The boat is great. Loved the propeller drive at first but it fell off after the second use. It went down the drain unnoticed by my 7 year old.
Still Making These, that's why you know it's good!Jul 25, 2011

Do you know how this is a durable product and a good design? They are still making these the same as they were 20 years ago. I had one of these that came with a cabin cruiser toy from Playmobil I got when I was five. The only reason it ever died is because I kept leaving it open in the water (I'm a boy, that stuff happens) and eventually the innards rusted after years of neglect. Now my son has one and it is the same good quality. The toy isn't dangerous since the propeller is made of soft plastic but durable enough to propel the boat quickly. You can also adjust the rudder by hand to steer the boat. Overall it's a great buy and you won't be needing to buy another one soon.
